 I am so fed up with watching this team. They are horrible. For the secdon straight game they allow the opposing team to go up 21 nothing. You cannot win games that way. I am now in favor of firing Rod Marinelli, and of course, Matt Millen. Rod had me fooled into thinking he was the right man for the job but, it is time he packs his bags. He thinks he can take these certain guys and “coach em up” as he would say. But in reality, this is just stupid. Our 1st and 2nd rounders are not even starting for this crap team. The fans and media have been yelling about starting Cherilus and he finally got playing time today. IMO he did a great job. Good riddens to George Foster. He could not block a kicker. It is time the Lions start thinking about next year, and see what they have in Stanton. Jon Kitna has blown to many games throwing wild INT’s and should resign his duties himself.

Now, to the worst part. The Detroit defense is a discrace. The worst I have ever seen in my 21 years of life. They trade their 2 best players the last 2 off-seasons and think they will be better? Maybe the players did need to go but, atleast get something in return. The whole front 7 is vastly undersized. This falls on Rod’s obsession with “speed”. Yes, we need speed Rod. But we also need talent. Maybe your LB’s would be a little better with Shaun Rogers in the middle? Chuck Darby could not hold Rogers jock.

This team makes me sick. If anyone can get me a tryout with this lousy team, please let me know. I know I can play better than half the players the Lions employ.

So, I am finally going to make my pick, and you may think im nuts. I am taking the Lions +3 Sunday at Ford Field. This may seem crazy but, this is the Lions home opener. I expect them to be extremely fired up and looking to bounce back from last weekends wipe out against Atlanta. There is no way that this Lions team is as bad as they played against the Falcons. And with Aaron Rodgers starting his first road game, I dont think he will be in top form. The key to this game falls on the D-Line once again. They must stop Ryan Grant and force Green Bay into throwing the ball. On the offensive side, I look for the Lions to be throwing more than running. There will be heavy pressure on the Lions OT’s to protect Jon Kitna. If Kitna is given time, I expect the Lions slot receivers to have a big game. Mike Furrey, and Shaun Mcdonald should have a field day. Final Prediction: Lions 28, GB 24

Michael Turner. 22 carries. 220 yards. 2 tds. Broke Atlanta single game rushing record. That pretty much sums up how the Lions defense played in Atlanta’s 34-21 victory over Detroit. From the opening snap, Turner was averaging over 10 ypc. Detroit was simply undersized upfront. The D-Line got manhandled, forcing no double teams, and the Linebackers overran the play every down. That, and the fact the Lions dont know how to tackle. Do they really think you can take down a 240 lbs. man with an arm tackle? I thought Rod Marinelli was all about foundamentals? Maybe it’s a lack of talent. I mean, it shouldnt be. Our 1st and 2nd round draft picks arent even starting.

Oh how good Shuan Rogers looks right now. Along with Dan Conner.

The Lions also kept 11 D-Lineman. At first, I thought “yeah, maybe its good. Atleast the D-Line will be fresh the whole game.”

I guess I forgot the players actually have to be somewhat worthy…..
